Pakistan Tehreek-EInsaf PTI Chairmen Imran Khan sentenced to jail for 3 years. Imran Khan was sentenced to three years in prison by a district and sessions court on Saturday for his role in the Toshakhana case. Earlier this week, a Pakistani high court set aside a lower court’s verdict and ordered it to rehear a corruption case in which the embattled former prime minister was accused of profiting from the sale of expensive state gifts. Pakistani district and sessions courts have also imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on Imran Khan. If he does not pay the fine, he will be sent to jail for six more months. He is also disqualified as the chief of PTI for the Next Five Years. The court rejected Khan’s appeal against the case’s maintainability. The verdict was reserved earlier due to Khan’s non-appearance during the proceedings. Islamabad Police has already issued an arrest warrant against Imran Khan.
